I'd say he's done it using infrared film. You can get some fantastic results with it, I just wish I knew a way you can do it digitally...

A lens couldn't do it, since a lens just focuses the image. It's the sensor (in digital) or film that records the light, or in this case, infrared light, which is a whole different spectrum to visible light.

oh sorry i want to say with a IR filter, anyway iΒ΄ve read that digital cameras block the IR radiation. I think this is only posible with photoshop...
