If you actually read the story, this is how I see that particular scene in my head. All, cinematic like, I guess. I won't say too much about it here - trying to avoid the bigger spoilers, after all. That's what the literature deviations are for.
I think I made the right decision excluding the dialog from this sequence.
People who read the chapter will know what these images mean.
People who didn't read the chapter will always have the wrong idea, and that's their fault.

It used to be, lol, back in 2008. Making full page comics for it became too hard and time consuming for me to do, which is too bad because the comic page version of the prologue was very well received. I write it, like, with words and sentences and stuff, now. Pictures go with it every once in a while.
Too bad people don't have the attention span to read it. XD One person actually voted in a poll that they would read it only if they received 900 deviantArt points - seriously, lol. It wasn't a joke to them.

Immaturity aside, the comic was well put together in the way it flowed. It was almost like we were seeing what Davis was seeing, minus the binocular rims. Awesome job!

Lol, I put binocular rims in the third picture but it ended up looking so bad that I deleted that layer XD

Are you thinking of being a film maker? Or are you going to just stick to drawing XD. Because your drawings are superb, but you have the cinematic eye.

When I was in high school I spent most of my time editing videos for the school district and stage events, so I guess that had some influence. XD But I like drawing, and I'm glad you found some enjoyment in it, too! ^^

So where are you going now? And for what major? Not film? It's because this is very much like a cinematic storyboard. But it's also very much like an every day comic book. XD

I'm currently going to a junior college and after my first educational plan ran off the tracks, I should be able to go to university by next spring. I'm majoring in Philosophy right now. Afterwards, I'll be pursuing a masters in nursing. [I get a lot of weird looks when I tell people, but most of them don't know I draw, so it's okay. XD] Drawing and writing is my anit-drug as well the creative outlet my majors lack. But again - glad you liked something I made. ^^

I don't think that's strange at all. It makes more sense to pursue art as a hobby, for it's much harder to retain a decent living. Good for you that you're majoring in Philosophy. One of my personal favourites
