Hehe cute, thank you! He is a tame owl so would fly right towards me then sit on table right beside me for a bit. Was amazing to see such a beautiful animal up close. I definitely wouldn't have been able to get shots like that out in the wild.

Thank you, I use Canon 70D and Canon EF 400mm F/5.6 for the vast majority of my pics. It's a really good lens for birds in flight as pretty fast. No image stabilisation on it but need high shutter speeds for birds in flight anyway. It takes a bit of getting used to but is a great handheld lens for nature, just wish it had a bit more reach on it

Some of my pics of smaller birds are from nature hides with feeders nearby, that gives you a good chance of getting decent pics. The eagle owl pics were not taken out in the wild, he is a fairly tame bird so that definitely helped a lot to get sharp pics. I would love to be able to get such close ups of the ospreys! I do spend a lot of time out in the middle of nowhere trying to get good pics tho, it has become a big passion of mine. Thanks very much for your kind words
