Definitely a must do trail, is in my top 3 hikes to do. many photogenic waterfalls and a gorgeous lake at the end surrounded by mountain peaks at the end.
Mountain Loop Highway is packed with nature's beauty

road is open all year round but during the winter months is closed 20-25 miles out from Granite Falls. the Lake 22 trail is accessible all year round however..trailhead is right off the highway

was a magical experience hiking out in the forests covered in snow, first one of the year, and it snowed about five inches in my four hours out there! had been on this trail several times now, but was a whole new world than before
