I kind of agree that Garnet is both her own person as she is two people. I think since she has been fused for so long, she is much different than other fusions which don't last that long (excluding Malachite). The way Garnet handles herself and talks about Ruby and Sapphire at times make it seem like she isn't talking about herself.
So I can see her having a relationship with someone although it would be awkward at first, but considering Ruby and Sapphire have a desire to stay fused together (as shown when they first appeared in the Homeworld ship) I think it could work. And not as a poly gem pairing.

i'm glad you think like that and it's a good way of looking at it tbh !! yeah i think garnet is her own person as much as she is a fusion of two people, she has her own agency and stuff

it's just mostly when people say garnet Can't Ever Love Someone it makes me feel really... it's common for people to claim black characters don't need relationships/love to exclude them (out of racism) or just bc they don't care about them. and i see people do this about garnet and i'm like nah

Wow i never thought might think like that when saying she can't love someone romantically.
I'm sure she could though otherwise there wouldn't be so many fan art and fanfics of that happening
