Uh...back before I knew anything about Wind Waker besides the style, I used to draw what I now consider odd pictures in my notebooks about the game. The style was very accurate, but oftentimes they were pictures of cartoon Link on a cartoon horse seeking cartoon spirit medalions. Heh heh. Anyway, I remembered this while looking through old paperwork in my closet, and I decided to try something like that now, however, like every inspiration I have, it ended up being just a stupid sketch that I half-heartedly colored. Heh.I now know that if Wind Waker Link were to see a horse, he'd probably be rather frightened of it. In this case, the horse has slipped Link over his neck and onto his back (if you can imagine that), and Link doesn't know quite what to do.
The horse should, says I, be somewhat more cartoonish, but honestly, I just like to draw horses this way.
I cannot do backgrounds, and I don't care!

On a side note, you should ABSOLUTELY redraw this picture and make a Draw This Again Meme out of it.
You drew this in 2005 right? I'm curious as to what this would look like (same size horse too) 8 years later!

I think you're absolutely right, I should! I have done it before with another old artwork, but this one is even older! Maybe that's a good project to do to get my artistic juices flowing again. I've been kinda unproductive lately...I blame Pokemon X. xD

Even though I'm a guy who plays a lot of video games and is a more techie kind of guy, let me just say this:
LOVE horses, really wanna ride more, but can't STAND horse people.

Well, specifically, horse owners, though the only ones I've known have been old women who still compete.
From the two nearby me, both greeted me nicely but when I visited maybe too often or did something there without permission they would say (and they said the EXACT same thing), "I'm sorry if I seemed nice to you when we first met". I couldn't STAND that.
It is true that I was too nervous to speak up, say a little "how are you?" (I HATE small talk), and smile. But one time I went to one of those farms and an old guy, the owner of one or two of the horses, along with his daughter, greeted me very nicely, and even thought it was okay to go inside the fence to see the horses (though I found out later that that was NOT okay with the owner). He left a very good impression on me and it made me wish HE was the owner.
The first farm I haven't talked to the owner of in a while, and the other I got kicked out because one week I went there 3 times in a row and trespassed a bit. I only did that because the first of those days I drive there and one of the horses met up there like she was really lonely. That struck me a little. (I did, without getting caught, sit on the horse's back because it was flat and I wanted to know what bareback was like. It was awesome!) It made me think of one time where I ride a bike on the road at the Chesapeake Bay and all the horses from a small field far away galloped to the end to see me. That was pure joy right there.
So I was at fault for some of those behaviors, but that doesn't mean all horse owners are prideful and overly protective. Had the owners given me a better impression and leniency, that would be a dream come true, but not all farm owners are like that, if any. Darn shame.

I see! Well, I have never been around horses too much, but if it helps your view of horse owners, my mom used to have a horse, and let me tell you - my mom just might be the nicest person on this planet. ...Seriously.
She's not exactly the SMARTEST person on earth, but she would literally give you the shirt off your back in -100 degree weather if you "looked a little chilly!"

Well I'm not saying horse owners are all like that. I guess non-competing ones who do it for fun or on occasion are the nicer kind.
Maybe if they were younger at the same time it would be better, unless it was like a nice elder who is active in his/her community (those are usually the good kind).
But yeah, BOTH owners I met were old but still compete. That probably makes them very cranky and prideful. Not the most fun people.
Also, just this picture and the second paragraph of the description gave me the idea of a short film, with a little boy named Riley who wants to save the kingdom and meets a foal, Jasper, who went looking for adventure as well, and began carrying Riley ever since.
The film would be wordless and short but would be totally cute until the near end when the two have grown up and become heroes.

Oh and yes, I can imagine that - only reversal xD Grace (one of horses here) donΒ΄t buck, beacuse it cost too much energy xD But she can make vicious take-downs with this style. She tried it only few times, but from that time, she stopped. She is stubborn and rascal sometimes, but I wouldnΒ΄t change her

Someone even told me that natural horsemanship donΒ΄t work well on them. They simply have their own opinion (and very strong one!). And they keep at it, but then itΒ΄s more like "battle of stuborness"

I know her for 2 years. I only took care in other stable (grooming,...), but not riding or working. Only now, when they bought horses to work for pulling carriage, I decided to work with them. Colleagues arenΒ΄t interested in constant work with them - so I decided to learn it.
Especially with huculs is very hard work, for a novice

This is a very nice drawing

looks to me like you were tryin to add epona into Windwaker, which I myself hoped they would, but bein the wierdo's they are they didn't which I think sucked royally cuz I really only started playin the 1st one cuz I saw my sis get a horse and i was immediatly hooked on more than just that fact. but newayz, I love it, it does look cartoony so dont fret about it :>

Hee hee, a loooong long time ago, when I knew nothing yet of Wind Waker except the 3 or 4 screenshots I'd seen of Link, I drew him with a cartoony Epona, and the image has stuck with me ever since. I think that's how this got started. XD

lmao, yesh get sucked into the talking of the hawtness, Reno is hot, have you seen the FFVII movie yet? its great Reno keep hittin his parter with his weapons when he goes to fight and the guy gets kinda paranoid with him, though he's not doin it on purpose. omg Xemnas was HOT for a bad guy, he reminded me of a Cloud, Riku cross or something, I didnt see much of Zexion that I remember, but he was pritty smokin as well XD, and Saix kinda pissed me off X_X lmao so there we have it a pack of hot game guys that I would so steal. you know how many times when I was younger(stilllll do) that I could jump into the TV, or grab something out if it? A LOT! lol
