I can't figure out why all of them still keep getting walloped by ten-year-olds. You'd think that after about 15 years of attempted world domination, one of the teams would have picked up on the pattern by now.

What I can't figure out is why ten-year-olds to go on huge adventures?alone. I would've made the characters thirteen or fifteen.
Of course, PokΓ©mon is Shonen, so there's the only explanation other than marketability.
If I led Team Rocket, I would make sure my subordinates could actually stand up to other Trainers. Special or not.

Another good point. Though I do remember that when I turned 10, I really wanted to be a Pokemon Trainer. I think I was also waiting for a letter from Hogwarts.
But in HGSS you're some sort of Chosen One or something. It's hard to do much against someone who's destined to catch Lugia. Oh, and Suicune, too. Not having a bunch of Poison-types would probably help, though....
