That's nifty! I agree with *fogllama that he looks more disdainful than outright grumpy. That you're able to communicate such a subtle emotion with his expression speaks wonders to your drawing skills. As for the colouring, it's niftily done (to my admittedly untrained eyes); it brings out the featheriness of his body without the need to outline every single feather.
He looks cuddly, like he'd make a good plushie. (:

but the tree is grey too? Then how do we know it's a grey bird and not just the camera? (that's supposed to be a compliment on your stunning rendition... but somehow I believe I have failed).

His look makes me think "disdainful." A tad wary, but generally, whatever (whomever) he is watching is not truly worthy of his consideration.

Oh, I should comment on the actual technique and stuff. I imagine this as an illustration from a children's story. Maybe one of those gray-tone drawings they put in the margin or tuck amidst the text to bring out some story element.
In this case, the main character has come upon Grumpy Grey for the first time and is attempting to strike up a conversation.
