Description Do not ask, friend.

Do not ask what I saw, what I went through, to obtain this artifact. If I told you, we would both weep. Weep for the wrongness of that place.

Weep for my sanity.

Love to add this to my collection of Lovecraftian artifacts. May have to construct one of my own.....Pray my sanity doesn't shatter in the process.

Oh I'm sure I do; googling to figure out the spelling of these things is not what a real scholar would have done. XD

Yes, a true scholar would have a book with the proper spelling handy (which I conveniently do) XD

Very nice, if I may ask quail egg? I have been thinking about the insanity of trying a quail egg filagree.....only thinking!

It's not an egg; I'm confused.
It's just hollow.

I was guessing it was a very small filagree style egg like this type of thing [link] my bad.....now I am curious, is it polymer clay (I was assuming it was)

NycterisA In reply to Glori305 [2008-11-17 00:43:17 +0000 UTC]

Now I'm curious too!
Yes mine's polymer clay, it's just not wrapped around an egg; how do you get the egg out of yours?

Glori305 In reply to NycterisA [2008-11-17 02:16:07 +0000 UTC]

After you bake the clay, you put the egg in a jar of white vinegar (the jar is important, you want something with a lid that seals or the whole house will smell like vinegar before it is over) Make sure the whole egg is under the vinegar or turn it every 12 hours or so, leave it in there for 2 days. White vinegar disolves the egg shell and you have to pull the membrane that lines the shell out thru one of the holes in the fillagree, I mention that because it is good to make sure you have holes big enough for tweezers or something to get thru.

Did you use something to prop your's up or was it just small enough that it didn't slump during cooking?

I used a "nuudle" - they dissolve in water

Thanks a lot!

I use them for shipping, didn't reallyl think of them as support for clay stuff, great idea! (and here I was thinking of trying quail eggs.....grumble)
