Description
Story:
After successfully tracking down a herd of unicorns, Spatula picks out a promising blue-tinted mare. With the exception of a missing ear, lost in some horrible accident probably involving another monster, her target is healthy. Sure that the herd was unaware of her presence, Spatula crept closer, careful not to let her hooves crunch down on so much as a fallen leaf.

Just when she was in sprinting distance, a head popped up out of the grass, not far from the herd. Spatula paused as she watched a peculiar brown stallion shake to rid himself of loose debris. He threw his head up to whinny. The sound trembled the rocks at Spatula's claws.

Sensing she'd lost her chance to attack, Spatula crouched and watched from her spot in the grass.

All of the unicorns lifted their heads; half of them were still chewing grass as they watched the stranger draw closer. The mare with the missing ear looked on edge, and picked her way closer to the heart of the herd.

Spatula hissed in surprise and flinched back when suddenly the stallion charged the herd, scattering them. She felt she should run too, so she wouldn't be trampled to death by the stampeding unicorns, but they spotted her and veered away in time. A flash of fangs, heavy black hooves churning in the air, and the lashing of a red tail was all Spatula could make out as the stallion brought down the mare she'd targeted. Her ears strained forward at the commotion that came with the kill.

There was a crunch, a snap, and then the demon horse looked directly at Spatula, the head of the unicorn dangling from his jaws. An eye at the center of its head opened up and she was instantly disoriented. She forgot what had just happened. The stallion pranced around his prey, and with a toss of his head, he discarded the unicorn's.

The head went flying over Spatula, and she couldn't help but blunder after it in a drooling stupor.
