The concept of punishing yourself for... well, what Oedipus did... in the way he punished himself, is so awful and tragic and it's my favorite/worst Greek Myth thing aside from Cassandra, whose fate was so mean too

It's one of the few I know because of the play we had to read in Theatre Studies.
To be fair, the title came after the painting was done, not the other way around, so while I was working on it I had no clue really where it was headed.
