Description Made for dA's Holiday Card Project. I was able to mail it to dA to participate in this activity. I also wanted it to not revolve just around the upcoming holidays, but to have it revolve year-round. I also wanted to make the writing to cover all sorts of issues in general and not have it focus solely on those in a hospital.

The journal can be found here if you'd like to participate: Holiday Card Project 2014

I believe you meant well but this is not at all in the holiday spirit. Sick people don't want sympathy, they need cheerful cards to bring up their spirits- and this is a pity card. This is pretty of messed up, you really need to be more delicate and have manners when you send these cards to others who are ill, especially if they are terminal. You could make someone feel horrible if they read this, i know if i recieved it I'd think it was a sick joke. I really hope you haven't sent this in, DA confiscates it when they recieve it, or if you do make more they are kind, not pitying.

So what you're saying is that I shouldn't be realistic, this should only be for the sake of a holiday and not year-round, and that it needs a lot more optimism?

No, if you read my message it mentioned not pitying them. This card isn't technically realistic, as it does not apply to all and even if it did it may upset the one person that recieves it. Simply be curtious, have basic manners, and yes- be optimistic. It is for the holidays and could be for year round, but i don't believe you grasp that your card could be considered cruel. You need to be more considerate to those who are sensitive.

its a little mean in the beginning and the rules don't really want you mentioning the patient's  illness but the ending is very kind and loving

I wanted to aim straight for the emotions. The intention is not to be mean but to address a general issue that goes beyond the hospital. The point is to let people know the purpose of this card by being direct, then support that with a message that lets them see that they are not alone and that they're being comforted.

FYI, I'm not pointing out a specific illness.
