Oh my! This is a hard fight that people have experienced in all times. Fears, doubts, desires, regrets ... Much of this is fake, but we are sure that it is true and belongs to us.
Our thoughts interfere with us "from above" from the head, and our feelings "from below" from the heart. At the same time thoughts descend from the head in the heart and cause emotions, and emotions rise to the head and give rise to new thoughts.
If someone can stays in the middle, between the mind and the heart (for example, from the throat), and to observe from there, then they can easily see this movement.

These feeling are a never ending battle. There are some days at my work that these negative try to overtake me, and send me down a dark path, even tempting me to turn against my friends and family. There also were days that they almost won

If I had an idea for a boss battle in a game I can see that evil entity taking control of one of the heroes during a mission. Either the main player or his friend becomes possessed and they have no choice but to fight their friend to break the curse they are in.

Yeah it would be, you myself and a bunch of other fellow deviantartists like ravenevert and megs-ils are in a game and in one of the levels, that's when the nega inner self would hit us with a light. Next thing you know, our evil dopplegangers appear, and it would be like a mini boss or main boss section. Another thing would be that instead of evil dopplegangers, the entity takes control of one of the players and we would have no choice but to fight our ally. The appearance is the same but it would kind of be like loki possessing hawkeye in the first avengers movie

The main player and the allies would be relieved that their possessed was back to normal which frustrates the evil entity

Mines is just intrusive thoughts at time that won't go away. They were really bad in the late part of 2011 and the first half of 2014 but there gone down then
