Haha, I held off on drawing this friend for so long because I kind of feel awkward drawing for friends who are more skilled than me. But I decided to give it a shot anyways. 'Tis the thought that counts, right? :] and besides, our styles are different, so I shouldn't compare apples to oranges or something like that.EDIT: I should clarify that. It's not just some inferiority issue, I think. It mostly just makes me a little sad that I don't plan to continue professionally with my art, and most of them are going on to art school and will get even more amazing. Eh, I guess either way it comes out a little strange.

I've been on both sides of the coin. I usually commission others (aka plead) because I adore their style and couldn't replicate it. I've even commissioned some abstract stick figures before because I think they're interesting. On the other hand, I've been commissioned by artists that I would bow down and worship if I could get the talent of their pinky finger. Again, what it mostly boils down to is style - not talent level. No matter how skilled (or unskilled) you are, you draw a certain way. I think judging our own talent level is hard, and we're always going to have those people we feel we could never draw better than. But our own hand comes through our drawings and that's what makes them interesting.

I also hate drawing for people who have high standards on art-- hence why I try not to direct art at Maru without a twist and a bend. xD
I think you guys can't be compared, though, like you say yourself. Your stuff is wicked awesome and I know Basi will appreciate it. :3

Well I try to avoid saying "better" if possible, because I do think it's not right to compare things so simply. But when I say "more skilled", I kind of mean that they know what they're doing as far as art techniques/anatomy/etc go, and I make up everything in my head. XDD It makes me feel a little silly.
