Here is my rather poor attempt at entering the 2011 WAR contest hosted by Mestophales.I put way too much pressure on myself to come up with something epic and add to that I went on vacation in the middle of the month and just had no time.
No excuses though. It is what it is. Good luck to those others who have entered. There are some really fantastic images submitted.

I thought of Elric too first thing when I saw it. The poses and composition on this are simply awesome. The expression on the human's face is perfect... expressions can be tough to do right, many people leave 'em near blank or end up in the uncanny valley for that reason.
Painting on a few more strands between the model layers of his hair would do wonders (if it's allowed).

Thanks. I probably didn't spend as much time on this as I could have, being that I wanted to get something submitted before I went away.
I've always tried to put in decent and appropriate expressions on my characters. I really cannot stand the blank mannequin look.

Man, this is very impressive 
The monsters look very neat as well, and it must have been a pain to render a scene with.. *counts*.. 8 figures in it.

It did take me a few days to get the final image done. I had to do it in layers and Poser kept crashing on me. But, I prevailed. Thanks for the comments. (I actually was thinking more of Elric, but whatever works)
