An atypical capture
At least in his limited experience..
Now- not to be mistaken as a complete rookie.. Rhydian had made captures on the Stone Empire raid..
But that had been with a group hadn't it? And his capture in Lightning Empire. He'd been with a Hunter patrol then.
Well, suffice to say this had been his first solo capture.

It was a bit different being entirely on your own. No advice from your peers to guide you.
This was likely how Rhydian had wound up tailing his target for so long before doing something.
He'd been in the midst of this- however- when his target had suddenly changed course.
The hunter wasn't sure whether he'd brushed a branch on accident or there was a shift in wind.
Perhaps his target had finally felt the presence of eyes boring into his pelt from behind..?
Whatever it was, the wilder had suddenly taken off running in a completely different direction.
Rhydian- still inexperienced in the wiles of empire cats- didn't think much of the sudden change in direction.
Only that he had to act accordingly to keep up. Thankfully he was quite the runner.
His target on the other hand was not.

The rogue feline had just about run himself ragged when Rhydian launched his real attack.
The target didn't have much of a fight to put up at that point and the hunter sought not to mar the unique pelt with unnecessary wounding.
His opponent was too exhausted to do much of anything as it was. Rhydian hardly had to do anything at this point it seemed.
But it was a long walk back to the city from Rogue territory with a cat that reeked of Lightning Empire..
Rhydian didn't much care where this at hailed from.

Lugging back the limp sacks of flesh and bones was quite possibly his least favorite aspect of the job.

mmmmmmmm I have other Rhydian stuff that's supposed to take place before this but this was a pic that urgently needed to be done and I have been p busy with school xD
