On top of the flesh isle, Acauldrus and Xyr sat around on the red flesh floor of its pore. Acauldrus was busy devouring the remains of a flesh worm she had encountered in the pore, Xyr was lying on her back looking towards the stars above in a trance like state.

"Should be getting closer to the fortress now, hopefully." Acauldrus muttered before biting on the remaining bone left.

"Hopefully? You have been to the fortress before right?" Xyr questioned, with a hint of anger coming from her voice.

"Always stuck to the Bloodlands, never dared to attempt going to the fortress until now." Xyr's face was getting bright red from frustration.

"Great, just fucking great. You don't even have the slightest clue where we're going, you do realise we might be further away from it right now?"

"Of course I realise, but sometimes you gotta go with your gut. It's what kept me alive for so many centuries, you should try it sometime."

"Fucking hell, a thousand damnations onto you and this bloody isle!" Xyr kicked the side of the flesh pore with all her might, before hearing a faint roar coming from down below. She stood there with some confusion, flesh isles weren't the things to make roars around here. She ran over towards the very edge of the flesh isle and witnessed a large worm-like creature, it's wrinkly body covered in an steel-like substance, flying towards their location, knocking over a flesh isle in the process.

"One of dad's ships." Xyr ran over to the flesh pore while Acauldrus looked over to see this creature come closer and closer.

"How are we going to get it's attention? It's gigantic!" Acauldrus looked over to Xyr was busy in the flesh isle, Xyr turned around to reveal a fleshy torch like thing.

"With this, obviously." Xyr spat into the torch and started rubbing it hard, it crackled for a while and soon after a bright red flame burst out from it. Acauldrus was mesmerised and lost for words. The ship flew up right near them, making a groaning-like drone as it flew. It's eye caught the attention of the bright flame and started to circle around the flesh isle before stopping near the side. A large daeman clad in armour appeared from the window, his helmet was a shade of dark blue and shaped to resemble a goat, skulls dangled from his horns and grotesque beings were carved into his armour like decorations.

"Who dares interrupts our travel!" He shouted out with a low roar. Xyr stepped forward.

"I am Xyr, spawn of Xanon. And this is my...associate. We seek safe passage into the Hive Fortress."

"I am so sorry, I did not recognise you at first sight my princess. We are heading towards the Hive Fortress as well, do come inside!" The demon left from their sight, soon after a hole opened up in the creature and a bone like pathway sprouted out from inside the creature. Xyr and Acauldrus made their up to the ship, when they got inside the hole quickly closed up and the ship started to move again. Soldiers were everywhere inside the organic hall, some bearing horrible scars on their faces and bodies.

Acauldrus breathed a sigh of relief, they would make it to the fortress in but a day's time hopefully. Xyr rested her back on the side of the ship, arms crossed with a look of contempt upon her face.

Time to come face to face with the past, she thought.
