Description I don't really know what this is, or what the point of my making it is. But um, yep... It was first done on scratchboard. Then I colored it in photoshop.

Thats amazing!! i love th colors you choose you always manage to pick the very best so they compliment eachother and make things standout! I love th subtle touches you always add too like the textures in her face and thebackground. bah love<3

Yeah! I had a blast doing the scratchboard portion. It's such a feeling of freedom just cross hatching away, and not being tempted to erase/be a perfectionist, which I usually end up doing sometimes against my will. And, well, if you looked longer you'd probably see the mistakes hiding in there. >_> I just hope they're not too noticeable, ha. Thank you!

Looks like traditional etching, but you did put your piece in the digital art category, so I'm a bit confused) Could you tell me more about the technique you used?

Yeah, I wasn't sure which category to put it in because it's a mix of both traditional and digital techniques. :\ The drawing was done traditionally on scratchboard, but then I scanned it in and added color to it on photoshop. I also tweeked a few mistakes I made on the scratchboard version. So I dunno I think the piece is as much traditional as it is digital. I just had to pick between one or the other.

Oh, I see) I had to make the same choice when I was submitting "The Sephiroth Tree" [link] and "Cremation" [link] , and many others)
The technique you used is amazing, I like it very much. May be you've seen the works of Santiago Caruso here on DA [link] , he's the master of etching)
