If they did then Sonic should go Super Saiyan 2 but he can't. Sure there is another transformation Sonic can do which is very powerful called Hyper Sonic and he doesn't even look like a Super Saiyan at all. Sonic's super form has a limit. In DBZ, a Super Sayian transformation doesn't have a limit. Sonic can only go Super Sonic by using the Chaos Emeralds. In DBZ, Goku doesn't need the Dragonballs to become a Super Sayian. Plus, when you gather all 7 Chaos Emeralds you can maintain a lot of energy to all living things and they can be used to create nuclear or laser based weaponry or give you a super form. When you gather all 7 Dragonballs, however, you can grant any wish you want.
So you saying that Sonic is a ripoff of DBZ is just ridiculous.

not really, sonic just only turns yellow when he uses the chaos emerald. they didnt rip DBZ off, but would it look good if he turned green, or orange? not to me.

I like it but...there are so many super saiyans, to me, a super saiyan doesn't even seem powerful anymore; not even with the auras or the Kamehameha or anything! The super saiyan image, in my opinion, has be soiled & the super saiyans no longer seems super...
