"Who's that?" Varian whispers before the guy's presence robs them of any chance to have a private exchange.

Lashanie tears her gaze away from the approaching figure. "Ben—he's my cousin. It's him and my aunt who are visiting here at the moment," she explains, struggling the words out as though invisible hands were closing around her neck.

A not completely successful attempt to draw out this scene from Songs and Science, chapter two: Forget-Me-Not.

I thought it would be a nice way to give you a look at Ben (after all, I've been asked to draw him for ages—not even kidding :' >). It seems kinda funny how shocked Lashanie seems to see him when he's looking so harmless. But that's just what I wanted for him: to look harmless. I did my best to give him an outfit screaming 'well-heeled' without making him look ridiculous.

The red ribbon they both wear is also no coincidence; it's a little hint at Aunt Marie's influence (Ben would never be dressed like that if it wasn't to satisfy his mom, actually).

I guess it's easy to see during which background drawing I was the most motivated. Lol 😆💗 I still need more practice with drawing scenes the way I envision them, but I think this one's alright still. Could have been worse, I guess. 🤗
