I first got this adopt because her original design was very sweet and shy looking, which I thought might potentially make a cute librarian for Buckeye. After sitting down and really thinking about what kind of story I could give her and what her personality would be...I settled for trying to make her the kind of hero that exists to amuse bibliophiles. I also wanted her to be a character that could potentially bring some of the more awesome things about the written medium into the visual medium. Pagemaster the movie was pretty cute, but there are some extremely fucked and insane things written in books that don't get to be in the visual medium as often because they're too violent, or too fucked up, or too emotionally abstract. She also is extremely interested in the occult and eventually learned a great deal about magic. I couldn't make her timid if she's going to be the kind of hero who can handle extreme books, so...she's not going to be shy, she's going to be more mysterious because she's not very social. Her main companion is going to be the gargoyle that protects the library, so I gotta design him to look more badass...and...since books are said to reduce loneliness, in her spare time she's going to check on neglected or troubled children that check out books from her library.
