Description Basically, this was some thing I wanted to make for ages now, and I've just mustered up the courage to actually make a background and some tiles and making a generally alive scene. HOPEFULLY, I won't be drowning in engineering work this time around (yes oB2Ko Mario is a mechanical engineer), so maybe I can do more consistent work on this.

you'd need to balance the saturation so one can make out the hero better cause it's in an outlineless style, which is kind of a hassle

also, try unifying your hero's colors more (go for color around the same basis, not a bunch of different ones with no logic), so you can choose backgrounds made out of complimentary colros, to make the hero pop out
You can see this for instance in castlevania where simon is bright orange, well most of the backgrounds in the game are blue-ish, so the orange pops out

I figured that my hero already had that unified color thing going (what with the mostly blue clothing with the accents of browns and tans for skin tones).
Which... kind of makes the blue backgrounds a bad idea, so yeah I see that point. I'll see what I can do~

Yeah, I figured there would be some issues with this. You think desaturating the background would help?

Actually looks very nice, except the dirt is a bit too bright and reddish looking.

Much appreciated! I wanted to do something a bit different with the dirt texture (I wanted a rocky feel to it), but then my incapability to keep the shapes rocky led to it looking more earth-like. So now the coloring isn't as good as I thought it would be and I'll be revising it~
