I only used 4 transformations. The first was Julia 3D with the Julia 3D power at -2. (I like that setting the best) Next Transformation I made the coils, which required Bubble .1 and Julia 3D at .5. For the Julian 3D power I used 100. Depedending on how close together you want the coils you can go anywhere from 10 to 1000. Transformation 3: bubble .3 and pre-blur 1. Transformation 4 I used Scry.5. In all honesty it probably would have looked fine without a 4th transformation. I pretty much just used scry for the middle part and zoomed in. It doesn't look the greatest zoomed out. Reality is you don't need pre-blur for the bubbles in transformation 3, unless you want pearl like bubbles. Transparent ones look good too.
I know that's alot of info, and if you're still curious I could send you some params. I just thought a short description might help out better.

Some interesting effects but haven't found the sweet spot yet. Will continue to play with it.
You are so right about the zoom/scaling. Now I'm trying to find a good gradient but it seems so many of the Apo built ins are rather sparse wrt chromatic variation.
Maybe need to dig through some of the gradient paks or build my own? That seems to be my downfall is mastering color distribution (I know enough about color speed/symmetry to not ignore it but not enough to keep from making a mess
