Description The BakeNeko are the descendants of cats turned by magic into a sentient, but servantile, race by the Mages, who once ruled over most of the known world.

To many, the BakeNeko are the most obvious reason why Magic use must be curtailed and heavily restricted, and why the overthrow of the ruling Mages long ago was so necessary.

Seen by many as unwanted reminders ofΒ the insane power of the mages, or as actual abominations, the BakeNeko have a hard time fitting into society. They themselves often suffer from depression and a sense of loss considering their origin.

As to why the mages created the BakeNeko, no one can say for sure. It is believed by many they were created to serve as simple servants, to fetch things for their masters, cook their food and manage their households. Others believe they are an example of the pride of Mages, creating these new sapient creatures and forcing them to live as servants showed off the power the spellcasters possessed.

Others believe they did it just because they could.

As you can imagine, knowing their creators were jerks is quite distressing for many BakeNeko.

neat.
I imagine they're one of the few species in any fictional realm, who don't believe they were made by god(s)...made for god(s), though?

great work.Β  (and normally I don't like cats)

Already done unfortunately, the Khaitan already hate magic, and keep getting annoyed by people thinking they are related to the BakeNeko

I imagine this was how many a persons first meeting with them went.

"Oh my god, she's so cuuute, and she's got a little sword too."
"Yes, no, wait no. I'm a fierce warrior."
-Proceeds to pick her up and hug her.
"She's so fluffy and cuddly. I could hold her for hours."
"Damn you all."Β
-About to be let down-
"I didn't say stop."Β

Tiny and cute, and they can make your breakfast for you, is it no wonder the mages made them?

A responsible use of magic, yes indeed.

Well maybe not, but it is a realistic use of it, because people are lazy by default, and if we could train our pets to make our breakfasts and do our laundry, we would

Hell, I know a guy who tried to train a roomba to bring him a cup of tea, though it didn't work out well.

And so the robot uprising began

No that was when I saw a clip on the internet when someone had two roomba's, with balloons taped to the back and knives taped to the front and tried to get them to fight each other

Awww life is hard without thumbs! Do they still retain any of their cat instincts? The design is absolutely adorable!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Obhan In reply to TheGearWork [2016-08-06 15:15:53 +0000 UTC]

Well they can't really make a mage breakfast without thumbs, so they gave them thumbs!

Also they do indeed keep their catty instincts, provided they wouldn't impede in their service to a mage.

And thanks dude!

The real question is, are they cuter now that they can dress themselves up in fancy costumes?
