"Request" for that I pretty much ran away with. I'm pretty oblivious to this ship. Posting before bed.This represents a specific memory of mine, one that I cherish long after the friendship turned sour because the feeling was so wonderful.

Honestly, I think most people like it because it's popular. Young or immature fans of shipping see it very frequently and don't really understand how romance works, so they can't form their own opinions about what characters would work well together. It's become one of the steriotypical ships. Generally, if someone ships Fluttermac, they also ship Soarindash, CaramelJack, Sparity (or sometimes Raripants), PokeyPie, and Twilight one of three or four random background ponies (Orion, Comet Tail, or sometimes Cappachino). They're common, so those who don't understand howlove works gravitate towards them and often become rabid (i would know, I used to be a rabid Fluttermac fan until I grew up a little). Though I am not saying that all fans of any one of these ships are like this. I personally like FlutterMac, because Big Mac is drastically different from many people's interpretations . In my head, he's sort of a sexual deviant who never realy cares about the mare herself, he just wants to get lucky. He's very smooth when flirting and not nearly as shy as he's depicted. He ends up falling for timid Fluttershy and her actual personality. However, he needs to learn to be gentle and respectful. He also helps her to be braver when it comes to new experiences, like dating and intimate relationshsips. They balance each other out. That's just my interpretation for you.

I think it's because they're both kinda shy and enjoy spending time on their own. I don't ship it personally, but I guess I can kinda see why. And their colour schemes look good together.

Aww, thanks! Yeah, I did a lot of deliberating on whether or not to remove their lines completely and paint them like the background, but I think I found a pretty solid middle ground.
