Purple Diamond (inspired by Jushtin Butterfly) was Orange Diamond's first and only male creation. He was very popular with his gem subjects. This was most likely because of the massive balls Purple would throw. His invitations were even extended to other species.
But when Yellow was created Purple was demoted to "temporary" Diamond and considered a quartz. At first Purple helped Yellow on the battlefield, but ultimately abandoned Mewniworld.
