Description
When I posted this a while back on tumblr, I think I just named it "New Heights" but I liked this name better when I finally got around to posting it here.
Anyway, this is a piece from a couple months ago, I hadn't gotten around to posting it for a while because the paper was bigger than my scanner, and it took a lot of piecing together to get this complete image.
Gryphons are definitely one of my favorite mythical creatures.
Done with a Micron, Crayola, and Prismacolor. (and just a touch of digital color enhancement)
Usually Seorsus gryphons don't venture so far into unknown territory...

Well, there's these griffin cubs, and they escape from their home, and it's up to three seventh graders to track them down and save the Menagerie, where tons of mythical animals live.

During this time I was really into fancy landscapes for some reason. (this was from around the same time as Winter Wonder )
I just love the way the sun lights the landscape, and lens flares just make me happy.
