Description Haven't worked on this car in quite a while. Computer is being... dumb. Sooo here are some random test renders -- was mainly checking the smoothness of the body panels and testing the materials on the tail lights. And I tinted the windows for the second render.

Comments, suggestions, and/or advice are all welcome.

Reminds me of Initial D. Good model. Cool little car. I like the windows in the top on, with the lighting there and in the texture of the car. Good job.

Thanks.
Would you believe I've only played the game in arcades but never actually watched a single episode of Initial D?! Maybe I should.

Thanks. Still have lots to do with this before I'm satisfied with it.
Wish I could find one of these in reasonable condition that isn't over priced.

My husband and I owned 2 - 3 if you count the AE85 we got first at a car auction for $1,200 (it had the pussy engine, but it ran great for what it was... and it was the first car I ever bought on my own . The 2nd one (the first real AE86) that we had, we actually found ABANDONED UNDER A TREE. lol. We claimed it and went through a long, annoying process with the DMV to officially make it ours. It had been sitting under a tree, in an abandoned lot for 3 years, so it wasn't exactly in great condition. It even had a huge rats nest on top of the engine. Had to replace every hose under the hood because the rats had chewed through them all. It was a fun project car, and by the time we were done, it was in fantastic condition. We even ended up getting the Japanese front bumper and grill with 'Trueno' from a guy for real cheap.

We used to hang out with a group of guys from the Seattle area that would hold AE86 meets every month or so in a park new the Puget Sound. You could always find guys with cars, or parts there. The front site doesn't update often, but all those guys still frequent the forums over here: [link] Don't know if you're anywhere near the northwest, but if you are, these guys could totally help you in finding an 86 in good condition for relatively cheap.

Ugh! I wasn't really planning to go all out with an interior for this one. But we'll see.
Sadly, the interior on the S15 is coming along slowly.

not bad but you should have sherman work on it with the textures and then I can help with the lighting and you composite it in a real photo over all the model looks cool

True, but I'm trying to see how much of this I can do myself before letting someone else take a crack at it. I want to get some dirt and paint fade on this car soon. Maybe try making it look something like this [link] ... but you know I've been having some issues with my computer.
