The Last Kingdom is my favourite series of all time, as novels known as The Saxon Chronicles written by Bernard Cornwell and BBC television series. The historical fiction series revolves around the life of historical figure Uhtred the Bold as his life story was fictionalized but also follow important events in the making of England. We witness the Viking many invasions and their place in history. It all happens during the reign of Alfred The Great and the reign of his children, Queen Aethelflaed of Merica and Edward of Wessex. It is the most wonderful series about the early middle ages ever made.
