thank you, but i actually think pyrrha's death was for the best !! it would be weird if they brought her back and even though she was my favorite character i get why it was done.

I agree it was useful for drive but other than that, I think it as complete garbage!!

Think what you want to think, but Pyrrha deserves better than what most people are giving her, and I think she deserves to come back, though not unbroken.

It wasn't even useful for that.  The fact that they lost Beacon is drive enough.  JNPR would have still gone with Ruby to Mistral, Jaune was still well on his way to coming into his own.  And most important, Pyrrha is not a narratively appropriate catalyst for the Silver Eyes.  There is not a single thing that killing her accomplished narratively that an event during the Invasion didn't already sufficiently do.  It was aesthetic, and a poorly conceived one, nothing more.

For someone who was billed as a "main" character from the start, this is an inexcusable thing to do to them.

I'd have to agree there. It's impossible for me not to see some fraction of both sides of the coin though.

Pyrrha was and still is one of the best things that ever happened to RWBY and my life, and I don't plan to give up on her, even after my soul flickers and fades away into the abyss.

Now, if there is one character that would have EFFECTIVELY enhanced the function of what was done in the Invasion (and by that I mean a character who all the defenses of killing Pyrrha would actually apply to)....Oh YANG.....

.....Oh shit, that wouldn't pissed off some people. I can actually imagine RWBY fan marching up to the RT building in cosplay carrying torches and pitch forks/RWBY weapon replicas.

But it's true though.

Of course, I'd be one of those going "why are you all bitching?

A) Yang is the most significant inter-personal connection Ruby has, so using a Yang death to awaken the Silver Eyes would be narratively solid,
B) she's a "main" character, so you've shown that "no one is safe" (No Plot Armor),
C) an antagonist (Adam) that is of an archetype that DOES need to bring direct power to bear on the "main" cast did just that,
D) you'd be emotionally impacting Blake with Yang's death, who is the OTHER major connection to Yang, so you'd be pulling double-duty in what is a series with a VERY nasty runtime problem,
E) Yang is the real "strongest of the main eight", not Pyrrha (all Pyrrha objectively has over the others is a public venue to showcase her skills),
F) She technically had concluded her character arc satisfyingly, as she found her mother and got more information on her, namely that Raven didn't want anything to do with her, so you lose nothing narratively by killing her.
G) You show her character development in that she ultimately could not learn to control her anger in a combat situation, which leads to her death.

Killing Yang would have been the correct move.  Now, if the writers were required to kill a JNPR character, Jaune was the correct character to kill.
