Description Mariko: '' As one of the few Yakuza left among Japan, I believe it would be in our best interest to work together. I had no quarrel with your former boss, and I have no quarrel with you. ''

Overhaul: '' Then I'm sorry to tell you, but that type of deal is impossible. If Lord Shingen were present I would be fine...but you're not him. You're not a leader, Yashida. You are a weak-willed woman, pretending to be stronger than you believe. I have no interest in allying myself with you. ''

Yashida Ninja: '' Mind your tongue when speaking to Lady Yashida! You dare refuse to use her title when- ''

Mariko: '' That's enough....it is clear that this meeting is going no where. I will see it that your men will be pulled from my territory, we will be no longer doing business with you. ''

Overhaul: '' Fine by me, Yashida. ''

Part of the as mentioned ' Yakuza Side ', the Yashida Clan had history with the Shie Hassaikai for quite some time. When Lord Shingen was still in charge, the boss ( who has no name...apparently- ) opposed him as he saw him bringing in the Drug Trade to Japan as going against the moral and code gangsters follow.

Lord Shingen would plan for his assassination, however Mariko's revolt stopped said assassination from happening.

With Mariko as the new head, relations between the two groups would become better...until Overhaul usurped his boss.

While his boss had respect for Mariko, Overhaul had none. Overhaul respected Lord Shingen more than he respected Mariko, and views her as a ' weak-willed woman ' who was not fit to lead her Clan.

Mariko ended up breaking off their alliance once she gained intel of members of the Shie Hassaikai delivering the drug Trigger. What truly enraged her was word that experimentation was being done on an innocent child, which spurred her to take action.
