I think Moominpappa has the right idea in this picture: grab a loaded gun, STAT! Though instead of an old blunderbuss I'd like to give him a proper combat shotgun and a basketfull of Molotov cocktails.
You've done an amazing job of copying the classic Moomin artstyle as well setting the scene. The characters hiding under the table and cowering by the window very well show a very primal fear coming true: a monster in the dark that's no longer just a scary story.

When I saw Groke for the first time I got so damn scared... The rest of the TV show was just fun and games, but then this one episode turned out and traumatized me for life.
