Description

Number two of my very long list of character sheets to make!! To those of you who are long time watchers of mine, before I got into the IZ fandom I had a old character called Arche. While this bugger was based off of that undead male it isn't the same character. Far from it really, though the personalities are similar.
If you were to say that his original designs before Irken were also part of how long i have had this OC, man that makes him one of my oldest. I would say he is over 5 years old! And of course, this is the only time you are really getting to know him. So Sorrrrryy

This is yet another one of the reference sheets for the comic my friend and I ~Alison-lynn are making, so I can't go into a bunch of grisly details right now. But this will be a quick graze over of his information for ya.

So shall we~?
I have thought long and hard about what Archers personality could be compared to. And really he is a strange character to say the least, with two sides of him that you wouldn't expect at all.
I suppose the closest character I could compare him to most of the time is..
Pip Bernadotte (Hellsing OVA 3)
Actually their accent now that I think about it is very similar as well , though Archer's I imagine to be a bit thicker than that.

note: Archer's nickname is Ragdoll

Archer is in all meanings of the word, a people person. He enjoys being a round people, joking around, talking, he just genuinely likes everyone. Unless you give him a reason not to. He the type of guy that for most people absolutely love, and for others despise. He isn't hesitant to show outward affection, turning him actually into quite a flirt when it chooses to. He will almost always be in a great mood, and not afraid to try and spread that by being enthusiastic over most everything. For him he would rather be happy than dwell on the negative side of things.

Hence one of the bad sides of his personality, it is very difficult to make him take things seriously. He would rather make jokes after a ship crash and shake off the pain by laughing rather than dwell on the situation he had gotten himself into. Even the most important of debates and information he will push to the side and procrastinate on until the last possible moment. This causing him a few issues with a few of his more dedicated companions.

The thing about Archer is that if you are his companion he will do practically anything for you, he is a loyal person, and if he has a dept to pay, he always will make sure it is paid. For Archer the crew of his ship are his 'family' they are everything to him, and of course he can be harsh as any captain or leader might have to be he still cares for them greatly. But the thing is about his personality is that he doesn't take killing seriously, or at least just doesn't care. It can be like a game to him, listing off numbers with each life he takes in the middle of a battle. It is very difficult to make him see how things are in reality, the suffering or the pain, he just blocks it out and instead makes games and jokes about it. This is his defense from the insanity that seems to grip the minds of many that inhabit the Irken species in the days of their lives.

Now moving on from the bubbly being known as Archer's personality to habits.

He tends to get into well, how to say, disputes, with others quite easily. I mean, with his occupation people should just assume when he is around something is going to go missing. Archer is as one would say a pirate, and in the rebellion he acts as the supplies and merchandise supplier going to other bases and collecting (stealing) food, medicine, supplies, weaponry, you name it from the oh so willing to donate people. Whether it is some kind of Merchant with a bit extra cash, or a Irken Armada storage unit it doesn't matter which one to him. He usually doesn't differentiate one from the other.

He is kinda like a crow in some ways you could say, having a bit of an addiction to shin substances or metals. And an impulse collect (steal) items of interest. He has sticky fingers to put it lightly, and once he sees something that he would like, well he is locked onto it. Either to come back for it at another time, or to do something stupid, and go without a plan barging into the place when he finds entry and just taking it. Of course he isn't the type just to walk through the front door, but he makes up plans as he goes. Say he sees a particular gem on display at one display exhibit he will inquire to one of the guards what time they close down. Perhaps inclining to wanting to come back before closing. Once figuring that out he will of course come back, and well kinda go from there. He is good at what he does, but he just doesn't always think things through.

To say the least this mentality has gotten him into more than one sticky situation, a certain Irken having a particularly bad problem with him. Mainly to the constant jokes and humiliating defeats he has received over and over from the said Irken. But that is a story for another day.

As you can imagine with his jump first think later logic, Archer has gotten into several issues in the past. Been caught, at one point put up for a death sentence which he narrowly escaped.
The worst and first time, was a real turning point in Archer's life I really can't get too much in detail with you all. But I will say this, everything changed for him from that point.
Before then he was a loyal irken always trusting that the empire knew best, worshiping his Tallest's. Training each and every day to better himself in a hope to impress their leaders and gain their favor. Believing that if he did what he was instructed to do that the empire would protect and keep him safe, that all he had to do was shoot his gun when ordered, and not hesitate to take a life. He was naive. Completely naive..

He had an accident, a disastrous accident. He had been used as nothing more than a disposable pawn and easily tossed aside, he came seconds from death if it hadn't been for a particularly snarky medic who jumped in to help him. (I think you all have an idea about who)
But before that he had been left there to die, burns lining his body the remains of which can still see layering his form in scars. From that point on Archer wasn't exactly the same. As he lay there bleeding out a enlightenment sinking into him about how this system worked, he realized.

To get anything in this world you couldn't just wait for it to be given to you, to earn it.
You had to take it, Make it yours.

This became one of the largest base changes for this Irken, once healed up he went AWOL from the Armada, choosing to get as far as he could from what he considered to be the place of his betrayal. Cause that is what it came down to, he felt betrayed by his leaders, by his people, by the ones he swore to lay down his life for. He had been left there like a broken toy no longer able to be used, and thus deemed 'worthless.' The proposition of retirement had been brought up for him when he had been recovering, something he discarded of quickly and instead chose to go through several painful surgeries to help restore his body from the damage it had received.

Now, a small note: Because of the traumatic experience that archer received from this he is terrified, I mean absolutely terrified of fire. He freezes up at the sight of it, won't get close to it, and refuses to have anything to do with anything that causes it.

Archer isn't the sharpest tool in the shed out there, he is intelligent not going to drool all over himself in class or anything. But he just doesn't understand numbers or mumbo jumbo that. He prefers to use his hands and get through stealing, or killing rather than deal with mechanics or equations. Now this doesn't mean he is unintelligent. When it comes to thinking on his feet in the middle of a battle he is very good. He is able to take a good look around and decide what would be a good next course of action. But you sit him down to play chess and he will sitting there staring at you in utter and complete bewilderment.
Probably moan and groan over the game as well.

You could say at times it seems like he could use some maturity boost and admittedly archer can act like a 9 year old smeet not getting his way at times. Actually quite a bit, especially when locked up in a small room too long. Archer hates holding still for a prolonged amount of time, it makes him antsy, he can't stand it. Feels too much like a cage for a 'free little ol' bird' as he might put it.

I think that is enough info about Archer right now, if I see anything that needs revised though don't be surprised if I pop back and make a few edits.
