Nao was a strong traditionalist who took up his family's business of running a shrine where he would help those who came to him. Over time Nao, who had strong electric abilities started noticing a trend. Many who came to see him were ill and wanted help with their sickness. Nao loved the people dearly and it occurred to them that if he became a healer, he would be able to serve the locals much better. So after some searching around, he found one who was willing to teach him. The price was that he would have to give up his electric abilities. As very few locals had need of that particular type of magic it sounded like a good deal. Unfortunately, Nao's family were not happy, seeing him as shirking tradition by turning to non kitsune practices. He was shunned by all his relatives but the local human population was greatly aided by this decision. Over time, as the world became more modern, Nao's little shrine got less and less visitors until eventually it was abandoned completely. Though it had been many years, his family still refused to associate with him, so lonely, he closed down the shrine and started traveling the world. Over time he heard rumors of a new Tatarigami named Nova and curiosity drove him to search for her. He watched her from afar and fell in love. He played secret admirer until he worked up the courage to meet her face to face. They became friends then mates. After an ugly incident that nearly ended the Fox's life at Nova's hands, the two realized they'd be better off as friends and not mates. Nao will always hold a special place in his heart for Nova, but feels they're both happier this way. Nao returned to his shrine but was eventually destroyed by urban sprawl. Nova introduced Nao to Opal and he now lives with her and her family. Father (unnamed), Mother Mizuki, Jealous older sister (and troublemaker of the family) Anzu. He met and married Opal's friend Annabel Young
