Description I did this for Light Grey Art Lab’s Macro&Micro exhibition!

I choose salt as my topic to fit the mineral theme (himalayan pink salt, black sea salt, and the truly exotic common table salt). This painting is not even a little bit geologically/scientifically sound but I enjoyed making it and really liked how it turned out.

This is brilliant. I love the contrasting use of green on the pink salt - also, the balance of color and darkness is really well done - I love the way the white leads your eye to the rest of the types of salt - like it literally is forcing your eye to expand your view of what "salt" is.

Wish I had a huge oil of this I could hang in a big white room!
