The blond girl is Melody, another robot girl. She's the creation/daughter of "the evil Dr. Locus," who steals Jenny's data in the episode "Bradventure." She helps Brad rescue Jenny from the underground lab of "the evil Dr. Locus." It's suggested that she becomes enamoured with Brad but must obey -- and escape with -- her father, "the evil Dr. Locus." You think that Melody is human until nearly the end, when she reveals an extendable robot arm.

In the later episode "No Harmony With Melody," Melody shows up at Brad's door. She has left her father, "the evil Dr. Locus." (Get the feeling this was a catch phrase? ) She wants to stay with Brad. Jenny had sort of broken a date with Brad to take Tuck to a cockroach fighting contest in Dallas, so Brad takes Melody out.

When Jenny gets back (with Carol, the champion cockroach), she reacts badly to seeing again the daughter of of "the evil Dr. Locus." She's certain that Melody has evil plans for Brad. All sorts of minor disasters occur around Meoldy and Brad, but they aren't hurt by them. In fact, the couple is oblivious. This makes Jenny all the more suspicious that Melody is up to something.

Jenny's jealousy is disturbing in the episode. In fact, she throws the first punch in the climactic fight with Melody. Some fans say it's because Jenny feels threatened that her best human friend (and more ...? ) might be stolen from her. Melody actually pounds Jenny into the pavement, becoming so angry that she deploys into her rather-fearsome battle form. "I'M JUST A NORMAL GIRL!!" she yells -- and suddenly realizes that at that moment, she's anything but. She flies off with tears. Brad scolds Jenny for her behavior. (Jenny never seems to clearly realize that Melody was trying to achieve what Jenny herself wants: to be accepted as a normal teen.)

Finally, Tuck asks what caused all the mini-disasters. It turns out to have been Carol the superhuman cockroach. She, too, had developed a crush on Brad and was jealous of Melody, too. He lets her down gently. She kisses him (ugh) and hops away.

"Seems that Brad's been quite the chick magnet today," Jenny says.

"This has been the strangest day of my life," Brad says.

"So my brother was being fought over by two robot girls and a COCKROACH?" Tuck asks.

He collapses on the street in howling hilarity.

As they leave, Brad looks at the twilight sky and says, "Goodbye, Mel ..." Then he walks off. In the sky, a star turns into a small silhouette of Melody. It flies off one its rocket legs, leaving a heart-shaped smoke outline.

That breaks up slowly and sadly ...

I'm a 50-year-old never-married bachelor. I work nights and weekends at a newspaper. I have two bachelor's degrees, one in English and one in journalism.

I am a 21-year-old single mother of a almost year-old son. I got school in the day time and clean, cook and "mother" at night. Raven has alway been my favorite charracter because I was so like her in high school and she's beautiful on the inside just like I am.
