All these photos were taken during my lunch hour today. I thought this was a neat idea for a project, but I didn't want to reuse my existing photos - so I went hunting color. Any idea how hard it is to find solid blocks of collor in nature? Even green took some looking. Anyway, I am very pleased with how it turned out. The only peice I am unsure of are the black blocks on the ends. Thoughts?EDIT: by request, I have uploaded a larger version as a scrap [link]

I like the range of plants and the rainbow border creates an interesting optical illusion of a convex lens.
The black works really well at the violet end. I think it wouldn't look so stark at the red end if you graduated the red border down to almost black so that it would blend into the end.

found on ConstructiveComments the colur blocks work very well and show nature at its most impressive, its a shame that the imagery is inconsistent though from chillies to flowers, though pleasing to the eye it is a strong and powerfull image that would be acepted by many advertising agencies

The photos are really wonderful, and I love the concept.
About the black blocks. The one on the violet end works because its blended into the purple very well, but the one on the red end seems harsh because its just abrupt with no blending to the black.
Kinda the same thing with the photos. I would have maybe manipulated this with a mask to make the edges of the photos blend more...

Great idea! You could try to make it blend better - photoshop some parts of flowers/veggies overlapping other flowers etc.

I saved it at 1024pixels wide so it would fit on most monitors. Do you think I should upload a larger version?
