Welcome to my personal favorite part of my sister and I's Modern AU, the brother part.The story goes: Hizashi was the second son of the wealthy Hyuuga clan, and inherited none of the money that his elder twin brother did. However, he found a beautiful girl and married her. That was Neji's birth mother, who died not long after he was born, leaving Hizashi to raise his son alone.
One day, while Hizashi was with his two-year-old son at a McDonald's, he met Aika Rock, who was working while her own two-year-old son, Lee, played in the play place. He thought she was funny, interesting, and asked her out. Things went from there, and eventually they got married, making Neji and Lee step brothers from the age of three on.
When the boys where 13, both their parents were killed in a tragic...well...that's a story for another time
.Anyway, the boys are really close. Neji, being the older one, is very protective of his little brother (Lee calls Neji Nichan, usually in a whiney tone to annoy him). They fight constantly but they're really best buds.
...Yay.
That ring Neji is wearing was his father's. He never ever takes it off

I love it! Their expressions are awesome and the pose is great! It's like their making a pact but at the same time challenging each other. Interesting back story, and cool AU twist! lol. Lee wants his big brother! I love it. Great job on the shading as always and background makes everything pop! Plus I love their clothes! Their parents die?! OO That's so sad!!! Awesome picture and story!

Yes, their parents die, and they have to go live with Hiashi-- whom Neji was raised to hate, even though he's never met him-- and there is lots of angst and stuff, and it's great. Really. I'm going to have to draw a picture for the rest of it at some point.

Angst can be really fun actually. Not whinning angst, but the drama and emotional stuff is always awesome!!
Oooh, that sounds intense. For some reason I don't think Hinata is going to get the very good side of the stick when it comes to this arrangement. Don't know why, just seems like Neji might take out his hatred for her dad on her a little bit. Could be wrong though. Anyways, you and your sister come up with really cool stories for these guys! love it!

Yes, the emotional stuff that hits you in the gut and makes you wonder how you would survive that situation kind of angst. I'm addicted to that stuff.
Exactly! Lee, too, gets it a bit, because he's an easy target for Neji. And...well...the end result is epic. And why Lee can't use jutsus in this universe. Just...so great. And came in to my head at about 4 am one night when my sister and I were up all night role-playing them.
It was one of those evil genius moments I get sometimes
