Pietro shivered as the rain poured down, and wished for the hundredth time that he knew what to do. His father had left him a week ago, and though he'd wandered home there had been no one there. He was cold, and he was hungry, and he wanted-- desperately wanted-- some of his family back.

A car slowed down as it approached him, the headlights shining off his silver hair. Pietro half stood, cold and exhausted, as it slowed to a stop. The window rolled down, and familiar brown eyes looked at him pityingly. After a moment, they widened in recognition. Charles Xavier, a friend of his father's, was staring back at him.

They stared at each other, as if daring one another to make a move. Pietro remembered, vaguely, that the man could read minds, and he wondered if that's what the old man was doing. Seeing for himself that he had no powers to fight him with.

Pietro's blue eyes widened as the window started rolling up. "Hey! Hey, wait!"

The window didn't stop, and before long the car was out of sight.

This didn't turn out as cool as I was hoping, but you still get the idea. It was too cool an image to leave at words alone. Did I mention I've got an intense dislike for Xavier? He's just as bad as Magneto, using and lying to his students, ready to leave them when they become a liability, but because he's on the right side it's okay? Ugh! The guy drives me nuts!
