Well I think it's cute.
Right, so I'm not exactly sure how I came up with this, but the basic scenario is that Gai and Kakashi fall in love with Iruka (I'm sure there's no doubt as to why
) and then, being eternal rivals and what not, both try to win his affection, nearly driving the poor chunnin insane in the process. Eventually Iruka falls for the charms of both Gai and Kakashi (they have charms, really. Really.) and they make a happy homoerotic ninja sandwich of LOVE.So, I like KakaIru/IruKaka, and GaiKaka, and I know that Gai and Iruka are at least aquainted, and Iruka seems like the type that Gai would have a great amount of respect for. So it's sort of plausible...maybe? No, I know. Not really.
I may write up a fanfic for the 's next contest. ... Ha ha, no one would vote for me.
I just think it would be cute to see Gai being all gentelmanly and noble and sending Iruka flowers and chocolates and carrying his books for him until Iruka gave him a well deserved smack in the head and remind him that he's NOT a girl. And then Kakashi being all gropey and weird at him. And Iruka being like "WTF?!?"

REALLY? you mean the sub or the dub? The dub....I watched about 5 seconds before I almost started to cry. T_T But the sub voices are fantastic. (as usual)
Kakashi's VA is Kazuhiko Inoue (who's nothing to look at himself) but has a damn sexy voice. And...I dunno. Everyone else. The Japanese VA are bloody brilliant.

OH God no. I get the fansubs. I am waaaay to poor to buy all the anime I want. I do plan on getting the graphic novels though (in Japanese) because Kishimoto is my hero.

Why get the japanese mangas?

Well, a while a go I bought Kazuya Minkekura's Wild Adapter in the original Japanese format (I had text translations to help me out) because there is no English translated version and I realized the same thing that I've started to realise when watching anime and listening to the acutal dialogue vs. reading the subtitle: it's impossbile to translate everything. There are all sorts of neat puns and speech patterns and formalities and things that just CAN'T be translated into English and are incredibly fun to read/listen to.
My Japanese is pretty pathetic, but it's good practice to read in Japanese, even if it's hard so I'd like to get all my manga in Japanese. ^^

Yeah, I know about the whole 'literal translation' thing. You just can't translate japanese into english accurately because it's not one of the romance languages, aye? Sucks, yes. And then if/when someone does try to translate it word-for-word, it comes out really... wonky because there are all these subtle..... oh, hell, nevermind. The fact that you know enough Japanese to even get the gist of things makes me jealous. =o I don't have the patience to memorize kanji.

Heh heh. It's really exciting to read things in Japanese and understands the plays on words and puns. After all, I want to do my own manga one day, so I need to learn all this stuff.
Kanji...ahh...memorizing kanji is a slow painful process but it makes reading SOOO much easier.
