Thylacine
is an extinct carnivorous marsupial that was native to the Australian mainland and the islands of Tasmania and New Guinea. It was one of the largest known carnivorous marsupials (the largest in the world prior to its extinction), evolving about 2 million years ago. The last known live animal was captured in 1930 in Tasmania. It is commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger (because of its striped lower back) or the Tasmanian wolf (because of its canid-like characteristics).
History:
Thylacine aka Tasmanian Tiger or Tasmanian wolf is unrelated to canines like dogs and wolves is convergent evolution of this marsupial. Many reasons for this thylacine was extinct because of sheep? Yes, like unrelated dingo that both of them is unusual on Australia. Red foxes and dingoes, like itself most ate emu birds. Without dingoes and red foxes by British settlers, prey on wombats, kangaroos, and wallabies also birds, potoroos and possums. Sorry for subspecies on Tasmanian emu, passed away by thylacine due to overpopulation on thylacine until rivalry between Tasmanian devil for this territory. British people revenge for sheep and nativehen (a kind of rail bird) as well as Tasmanian devil into drive to extinction of thylacine. Benjamin the thylacine is last know this species that nearly extinct. This species brought to Hobart zoo here he is in the captive until is dead. The extinct year is September 7, 1936.
