This would be a portrait of me in an utopian future. (warning upsetting opinion pro-AI below) When I studied my Masters in Sustainability, we kept coming back to the same problem: human nature lack the ability of pure logical thinking about the future. Everyday example: a smoker sees cancer as a risk, but it is too distant for them to truly visualize and "care" for their future self. Humanity knows about how burning coal destroys our planet. We are aware, but cannot "care" for the future of the human race, more than in abstract thought.

In my Sustainability studies, we tried everything to work around that problem; collaboration across nations, NGOs etc. BUT we cannot override human nature of an inability to conceptualize what is truly happening to the planet. In the US, everything, even a piece of fact proven by countless scientists, has to be debated, shared, commented on until the piece of fact has mutated out of proportion into an opinion, that then has to be shared like a virus across social media. Fact over opinion. For me, fact and logic always wins. That is why I am into AI. Because AI is very easy to work with. It has pure logic and facts. I used to believe what could save humanity would be education, I now know that is wrong. What will save humanity is AI.

I just joined this forum. I have no idea of what kind of subculture there is here. I may step on some toes here just by uploading an AI generated image, because it is "easier" or "not right" or "the computer did the art for you". I welcome all debate! I would love to hear your opinion. But to me, hating AI can sound a bit like a mathematician being upset about the invention of a calculator. Generative AI is a new TOOL (yes it is a tool, it is not alive, it does not have emotions), and it has the capacity to change the world few people have not begun to imagine yet. I make art in many forms, I made oil paintings before, fire dancing - but I am the kind of mathematician that loves the new calculator. I see the extreme potential that it brings me. Artists can take advantage of their knowledge in this new era. We can visualize everything we can possible dream of with generative AI. So don't hate the players, hate the game. We all need to adapt, and the sooner you do it, the better your advantage will be.

My advice to you is to study prompt engineering. That is what I do. It is very affordable to learn online. It basically teaches you to communicate efficiently with machines. Follow tech updates. Follow people that knows tech stuff. Use your time well. Every week there is something new. Keep up. Try everything! Right now it is an explosion of innovation that is as important as the steam engine. Way bigger when the internet came. Learn how to take advantage of AI, in any form that makes you happy. AI is the future.
