I am still learning myself ;D; but I suppose one really important thing is to know how light behaves and not to be afraid of contrast. Also knowing the color wheel and what colors with with each other would be good too. Though that is stuff I should be thinking about more as I do stuff as well T^T;

Amazing coloring! It makes the scene look so cool, yet sunny and warm at the same time, due to the shadowing highly contrasting the lighting.
I also like how this looks like a windy yet sunny day. That's perfect for being a sea side scene. x3

I always have trouble drawing the actual sea/water in sea-side scenes- though this time I guess it came out ok

Yah, it did. There's a sense of distance there, like she's sitting on a throne that's on a cliff and the rocky shore and the sea are down at the bottom of the cliff, kinda far away. I get that impression of depth from the contrast of coloring for the scenery.
I gets a bit hung up on making those scenes too.
I had a dream about being a pirate, a few days back, and there was this neat view of the sea's horizon on a nearly stormy sky day, I wanna color a bg like that whenever I get around to making time for it!
