The world came into view
all made sharper by

crease of my arm,
which kept lashing
out at old demons
who were never
really there in
the first place
Space.
"Space" is what
he told me he needed
that one night in
some shitty apartment
on a dangerous street
in the centre of the city
where I willed my
rib cage to collapse
just so I wouldn't
feel my heart shattering
in the heat of
the moment.

I always had a flair
for the dramatic &
I languished in the
broken pieces
(I dare say I loved them,
they were great for my image
& my street cred).

horizon like some
bolt-blue bird song
on the first day of spring
& I could breathe
again (Finally, I could
fucking breathe again).

Heart flowers.
Beautiful deep blue.
Coroscate like a heart put
under so much fucking
pressure it was reborn as
a rough diamond.

& all the in-between.

Within you the rest mean
nothing, nothing.
No-thing has shaken me
up quite like you.
