Cloose...
You kinda kill them dragons!
There is a heavy glitch in the game so don't go putting in 138 hours into the game without knowing it!
like I did

I'm not saying this maliciously or anything bud, but he's giving you a message. He's trying to stop you pre-ordering games! Cause Gamez Journalizm!
But seriously. I don't really like the "pre-order culture" and the power it has, but it shouldn't have to be on the shoulders of fans to stop it themselves. Or their Digimon for that matter. X3

How does that link together? Tell me morez!
Pre-order culture is something I don't get.
If I pre-order the game and it still comes after one and a half weeks after launch day, wouldn't be logical to just get it after it's released and wait half a week less?

It's mostly because I watch a lot of Youtube channels who are actively against it, mainly Total Biscuit and Jim Sterling. People who know the industry inside and out and know that developers push pre-orders mostly to get sales figures for the investors. Anyone that knows about the disaster of Aliens - Colonial Marines have a great example of why it's unwise to pre-order, but in recent days, ones like Deus Ex - Mankind Divided's "Upgrade your Pre-Order" nonsense and No Man's Sky in general are good examples. It's good that Steam now has a refund system which makes that less of an issue, but with the many people pre-ordering games it still sends the message to share holders for bigger companies that giving more and more ludicrous rewards to gamers for pre-ordering will give them better sales figures. I don't like it when someone pre-orders a game because you're going in blind, but I'm also not going to put the responsibility for making a change on someone who just wants to enjoy a game as early as they can. It's the responsibility of the company to make sure their game is worth pre-ordering in the first place, or allowing reviewers to see the game and give the consumers information they need before pre-orders are opened up.
That being said though I'm not sure how you'd end up getting the game later than someone who didn't pre-order because I haven't actually pre-ordered a game before and I'm unlikely to do so in the future. I don't know how that happens but it doesn't surprise me that it does. X3

Oohp. Instantly understands the moment you said My Man's Sky. Mostly from the interviews.
I always thought you were paying for essentially something that might meet expectations (or might not even come out)...
In terms of dragon quest 7 though, there is in fact a game breaking glitch that crashes when you have less than 4 members in the final dungeon. The excitement kinda dies when you know you spent 50 or more hours into the game and know that you are barely half way done through the story.
I am not playing it until something is done (PATCH SQUARENIX PATCH). So I guess my little panel(s) did forsee the future. Wish it did delay for most of the problems to be fixed.

It is always a risk, and clearly games are more often than not rushed out the door these days, but it's ultimately the responsibility of the company to decide to buckle down and finish their game proper before allowing pre-orders. Usually you can just have the art team at work and then put the dev team to code for another project, as larger companies tend to work on multiple projects at once.
Can not pre-ordering games benefit you? Absolutely and I encourage people to wait even with games they're very excited about. Do I think that companies will always be able to connect the dots between the reduced pre-orders and the reason why though? Unless they're listening the their communities like a hawk they could just as easily interpret it as something completely different being the problem. So not pre-ordering alone would not really send the message across proper, and considering that most people don't get into games to become an activist, I would never ask anyone to have that level of involvement and potential time investment, irrelevant of what positive impact it may have on that company and it's future decisions.
So yeah. Ramble ramble, ramble and ramble some more. I hope Squeenix fixes that game up very soon. =3

I can feel the pressure of the FF7 remake.
But the art team cannot MATH! THey can only eye candy!
If they studied philosophical conceptual fine arts, bonus to them.
Yeah they can, but most of the time they are ruined by reviews. I tend to never look at them. Hi Mighty Number 9 (that game was actually not too hot for me... felt my thumb fly of the keyboard from a 3 step command to kill a robot vs a 2 step command.) Oooh, that will be some 1984 shiet. Funnily, if they spent alot of time getting feedback all the time, the game won't even be out.
You almost got me rambling about remakes though.
YOU KNOW WHAT.
Cavestory 3D I thought was a terrible candidate for a remake on the 3DS. It was rare, but it costed a bone and a soul figuratively.

Oh goodness the FF7 remake. I do actually hope it turns out great, even if the art team cannot math and the coding team cannot art. X3 (that's why it's cool in my eyes for the art team to add in re-skins or art-books and other silly stuff for the special edition when the main game is done. It's just when something like Mass Effect 3 comes out with an entirely exclusive fully coded part to the game in that special edition where we have problems.)
My philosophy with reviews is to never take everything a reviewer says as gospel. In the end, they are meant to help YOU make the ultimate decision, and if they are not doing that they're not doing their job well in my eyes. It's not enough to just talk about the game's negative points, you need to find some way of proviing it if you want to be taken seriously as a reviewer. That's why I honestly think that lets plays are some of the best ways to tell if you'll like a game or not. Other than controls which a lets player will typically complain about if they're an issue, you get to see a good amount of the game and decide for yourself when you're ready. At that point though you kind of have the risk that the game pulls a Mass Effect again (lots of references to that one unfortunately cause it really is a great series overall. :/) where the beginning is amazing but then the ending just leaves you feeling empty. Ultimately I'd suggest trying to find a reviewer who you know thinks similarly to you or who proves their points extremely well. Written reviews simply can't do that so I always go to video reviews. Besides, typical review sites have their sponsor overlords and Metacritic keeping a watchful eye over them, so their scores are usually tailored according to that, not how the game actually operates. Any independent reviewer should be taken a little more seriously, but still given the same level of scrutiny when it comes to whether you'd agree with them or not. I'd personally recommend Jirard The Completionist because he typically covers a lot of classic games mixed in with modern stuff, and even if you don't like the game he's generally very tame with his reviews and his skits are usually pretty funny. Like the time he "Completed" Netflix (don't ask. X3) And if you're looking for another silly style one, another favorite of mine is Caddicarus because he's freakin hilarious and covers Playstation games a lot. X3
Ramble bullet dodged! Achievement unlocked!
I hope I'm not reopening the remake can of worms here, but was the 3DS Cavestory good in the end? I like what they did with some of the music tracks for sure and the graphics didn't put me off too much from what I've seen. I'm curious. *runs and takes cover*

Despite some punches on Sunshine, I like Johnny's reviews. Something humble about it, and not too over the top.
The Finishist did a Netflix run?! I'm looking at that now! Well, after checking the spelling in my paper...
Caddicarus and his slaughter/salvage xD I seldom go back to his Tomb Raider one for kicks.
Like OH MY GOODNESS. HOW YOU EVEN PLAY THIS GAME?
The music is fantastic, but I have a strange feeling that the steam version already included the tracks as an update already. I am dat confident and won't even reconfirm.
The graphics, bless you, I simply gave a little pout at the characters. They are so tiny. The only way I would call it playable, without stretching your arms and taking some Advil (or Panadol outside of NTSC regions), is if you played on classic mode. That makes the characters and monsters stand out in pixel'd flat colours, and also ups their hit boxes (classic mode also makes you and them larger targets, punctuation be darned).
The camera is always constantly panning into awkward angles (to show off the 3D in the title, and while no action is going on, the environments can look beautiful).
Playing this on a New 3DS might solve the character visibility issue. Or even a XXL if the make that. But to me, this is kinda a very disappointing remake. I think I put more time into Kero Blaster and that is a much more simplified Cavestory experience.

Yes. The Completionist did a review of Breaking Bad where he rambled on about "Completing Netfilx" in his first season, THEN made a followup where he "completed" another TV series I can't remember atm. X3 I just like Caddy because he loves my first console so I'll admit I'm kinda biased. X3 Johnny's pretty dang awesome too! I remember seeing a series where he just did a bunch of joke games all in a row and it was just hilarious. X3
All I'm gonna say on that one, is I'm sorry for opening old wounds. There there it'll be alright. (Curse my at times oblivious curiosity)

I. Would. Love. To see him finish off League of Legends.
Caddy is a big fan of the pee essu ekkitsu!!! Home to quite alot of 'no import for you' games that are pretty good.
Johnny was a fine man too. Hope Sonic Mania will be the sonic game for him. Fire and Ice didn't sound too hot or cold.
That's okay, I gave it to someone that will have better enjoyment out of it. One thing I don't understand is the amount of money people would pay for it (i are hypocrite)
