Still, it's not terrible enough to the point that it actually affects the drawing; plus the filter kinda obscures the quality

Which difficulty were you on? (actually, were you able to choose the difficulty of that stage at all? I can't remember now)
I haven't actually gotten to her fight (to be honest, I'm not very good at the game anyway

You can't choose the difficulty of the extra stage. It's just listed as 'Extra', but it always feels somewhere in between hard and lunatic to me. The problem comes from the lack of lives and terribly long boss fight
I'm working on unlocking Yukari's stage and trying to complete Suwako's and Mokou's too. I've gotten quite far into Suwako's fight, but it's the nonspells that kill me >.>

Yeah I just saw that actually. I tried playing through Ran's stage just now but it kept kicking my ass before I could even get to Ran herself

You're absolutely right when you say it's a great game. It's pretty addicting once you start playing it
I'm curious, what other Touhou games would you recommend? I've been meaning to get into the series in general for a while (which I think was the reason why I started playing PCB) but I dunno where else to go

I can get up to her third last spellcard, I think that was the furthest I've gotten. I still can't beat Aya in MoF though .... weird
Imperishable Night is the best one in my opinion. Great music, great dialogue, great gameplay and visuals, great characters and multiple teams to play as, prominent characters in the series, cool storyline. It's got everything, try that one

Takes a while, not sure exactly but I think an extra boss is about twice as long as a final boss?Β
Well there's a teams of Reimu/Yukari, Sakuya/Remilia, Youmu/Yuyuko, and Marisa/Alice. They're all inspecting the incident of the false moon, but it's really cool to have so many playable people as opposed to just two or three.Β
