I love the simplicity of it, which I think is one of the main reasons why the picture is so sexy. If anything else was added to them besides the words, it would take away from it so much.

No, i'm not Emily doll, my name is Julia. I'm stating (in my shortened thesis statement for the series) that the photo-comic genre relates to the drawn comic in that they are a format and formats can be adapted, the content varies with the artist. they have photos with words over them and that is where the similarity ends. Also, my work does not resemble theirs exactly only in the respect that they are photos, with words in separate frames. Just as hand drawn comics by thousands of artists share that basic format of drawings in separate frames. So they just inspired the look of the series, not the content. I hope you can still appreciate it despite the fact i'm not the originator of the format.

I can never think of short, snappy stuff like this, and I can't seem to write very long stories. I always fall somewhere inbetween, so I'm glad when stuff like yours appears because I appreciate that which I cannot do myself.

This is better. Neither of the phone captions are comfortable angles. Aside from the primary difference between the second and fourth captions, the changes are subtle - this is what makes the piece for me. The shadow. Even the inclusion of the extra phone cable ring is conducive to the feeling - recession, deflation. You could almost remove the text completely.
