Now I'm not saying that I didn't like the movie. Far from it. I thought it was an entertaining and action packed movie. That said I think the second one was better. I think they could've done an epic movie with Venom, and they could've done an epic movie with Sandman, but instead they chose to do both in a movie. It was more like three small movies up until they teamed up. They would go and beat up a bad guy and then he'd do some stuff, and then he'd go and beat up another bad guy. Up until they teamed up he didn't even seem to think of the other bad guy while he was punching through one guy or making sure Harry was brain damaged (he did hit his head quite a lot didn't he?). But all in all, I think it was a $6.50 well spent. Not as good as Spiderman 2, but not as craptastic as Fantastic Four (Now that's something that makes me want my money and brain cells back).Related content

The second movie for me was the last good Spider-man movie. The Third one would have been a whole lot better if it just focused on Peter and Harry's relationship and only had Sandman as the main baddie.

How's that for plot devices. Yeah, I'm sure it would've been better. The problem I hear is that when they found out this was going to be the last one of the series, they crammed Venom in there through pressure from Marvel and they also put in the Goblin stuff since they wanted to wrap that up too. Really I hope that Marvel decides to do another under their own studio banner. After seeing Iron Man and Hulk, that would be a treat.

They are doing a 4th movie, and it's rumord that Toby Maguire might be playing Spider-man in the Avengers movie (if they include Spider-man of course)
Iron Man is the best Marvel movie that I've seen (have not seen Hulk yet)

I didn't know Sam Rami was in any of them. His associate and long time friend, Bruce Campbell, was the maitre d' at the restuarant in the third one.

What derailed the movie for me is that the whole drama with Ben Grimm is that he can't go back to normal. this movie not only took that away, but then when they turned him back to stone, they didn't leave any reason for him staying that way.

In retrospect, I should've made his wig very small and had it popping off like it was. but I drew the panels with it on his head, and then came up with having it pop off when he's excited.

it was too long, it was too packed, it was too CG, and the mtv-generation cast can't act to save their life, other than that it was fine. but to more important things ... LOOOL, I love the style you draw them in

Could of used some cutting back on all the unresolved plots IMO, but I enjoyed it for themost part. I think it would of been more satisfying to have them set Venom up for the next movie.

they thought about that, but Marvel wanted fan favorite Venom to be in it. I'm just glad they decided to cut the Vulture out of it.
