Couldn't wait to draw this character and... I ended up working so hard on this that I can't believe my hands made this. Not sure if I drew this but I did.

One of the biggest influences on this piece was Death Note. Xibalba reminded me of the shinigamis and I just had to use this one particular image from Armonia Justin Beyondormason entry as a reference:

Didn't want to copy the reference so I added my own details to the throne like adding a hidden Jack skellington and those pelvis candle holders. Ever since my father designed that guitar for me, I like drawing cartoon skulls with a elongated nostril like a hairlip. You can see this on the top of the throne behind him.

As I was inking, I decided to add La Muerte in his shadow to add a little more to the piece. Her eyes are a little off since I forgot to add her reference to my image sheet for colors. So it was a quick add.

Kind of cheated with the coloring on his staff, so I'm a little guilty about that. Screencapped the pattern and pasted it in.
