Description
A test of 's "Sodding Narrow Gauge Railway" layout. Though the name's a bit crude, it's a lovely little route. Almost feels like it could be part of the Harwick Scenic Railway, so I appropriately used Sidney.

I hear on the grapevine that because the 06 range is so old and out of date that Sean now allows reskins of them to be made and released. I'm double checking with him just in case, but if I don't hear back, I'm assuming he's too busy to answer and what I heard was true, so my cancelled FatHatt collab reskins will finally see the light of day. However they won't have custom facepacks, save for Proteus and Little Barford. I must also redo my Rheneas, redo RWS Smudger, and perhaps even do a Smudger based on 's fic Recalled to Life.

I must say, I'm shocked and disappointed in the way other fans have treated him in the recent months following his joke sketch of Five Nights at Fearless Freddie's. Shame on you all for giving him such unnecessary backlash! FNAF is pretty popular I'll admit. It's not my thing but I appreciate it for what it is. Honestly, to think you guys would get so worked up over a silly play on words.

It's because of all this that he quit DA and removed his fanfiction- which I honestly think was one of the absolute best ones I've read. It was very well written. It gave Smudger a backstory, incorporated Railway Series and Retconned Series canon, had its own unique original characters, tugged on your heartstrings, and tortured a poor little well tank-turned generator. Not something you usually see in a Thomas fan fiction without going fully crappypasta. He inspired me to want to do something similar for Godred, and we bounced ideas back and forth. In retrospect, now my ideas remind me ever so slightly of the ending scene of Shed 17, but I digress. I don't want to scrap him completely- I feel like in order to retain the memories and the guilt of his former self, there needs to be a vital part or two of him remaining. I wanted it to be his boiler and face/smokebox door, but I felt that was too similar to Smudger being a generator or Stanley being a pumping engine, so I wanted just the face/smokebox to survive- and miraculously sustain his sentience. I wanted to like hang him on a wall somewhere dark, like in a storage shed, give him nightmares of the day he came off the rails. Things like that. It was a dark and sadistic side to my creativity that I wanted to explore.

But with Loony gone, my motivation has gone down the drain. I've also lost motivation again for my stories about Dee, the Skarloey Engines' 150th birthday and the Red Engines- I'd even decided to drop using the T1 for my own Red Engine OC and use a Claughton like the ones modelled. Maybe someday I'll get back to them. But for now I'm focusing on recovering from last month's traumatic loss of a lover and friend, and currently dipping my feet into the waters of Legend of Zelda theorizing.

I'll probably throw these long bits of description into my new journal so that people don't get bored reading them on the Deviations.
